Detroit Handbell Ensemble is proud to present our holiday concert "Totally Sleighed It!," a musical program packed with songs of the season featuring Santa's magical sleigh. Please keep your arms, hands and legs inside the sleigh at all times - it's going to be a wild ride!

Songs include Over the River and Through the Woods, Jingle Bell Samba, The Belsnickle, Sleigh Ride, and many more.

Artistic Director Kyle Webber says:

DHE is off to a running start this season and I am so excited to be the new Artistic Director! I am excited to welcome three new members: Karen MacKenzie, Hellen Ellis and Carole DeHart as well as returning member Diane Brown. The 17 musicians in this group are sleighing it (or is that slaying it?) so far in rehearsals. I am proud of the work they are doing and excited to take our audiences on a wild ride this December.

This rousing concert is sure to get you in the holiday spirit. In the end, we'll let you be the judge: Did we sleigh it or did we slay it? Join us at one of our three scheduled concerts: December 2 in Northville, December 3 in Livonia, and December 12 in Westland. Click here for details.

The Eaton Rapids Handbell Festival will be held October 28, 2023. The closing concert showcases the talents of DHE and local musicians. Looking ahead, DHE is making plans for our 30th Anniversary celebration! Save the date for May 19, 2024. More details coming soon!

DHE would like to thank Carol Umsted for the generous donation of three octaves of Whitechapel bells. We’re already putting them to musical use! Come to one of our holiday concerts to hear these lovely instruments in person.

It is a privilege for the Detroit Handbell Ensemble to spread the joy of music to a variety of audiences each year! Consider being a part of the DHE community by passing along concert announcements, hosting a concert, or making a tax-deductible donation to DHE. Contributions help us buy new music, maintain our equipment, and meet all the other expenses that come with sharing quality handbell music. DHE could not do what we do without YOU, our friends and fans. Thank you for your support!
