Keep Up With Our Tempo
Four ringers are performing with a bell tree to the left

"DHE is excited  to be back ringing in the fall. It has been too long since our bells have been allowed to bring joy to others."
- Artistic Director Brenda Austin

The time for music is now! As was the case with most things, Covid-19 kept DHE’s bells silent for most of the 2020-2021 season but we are looking forward to making music together again. There is something special about ringing together and being able to share our collective passion with enthusiastic audiences that has been missing for too long.

Along with the excitement of a new concert season, we are thrilled to welcome Kyle Webber back as interim director while Artistic Director Brenda Austin takes a short leave of absence for health reasons this fall. Brenda says, “I will be taking a couple month leave of absence from DHE for health reasons, and Kyle Webber will be stepping in to hold the baton. I am grateful to have such a fine musician lead DHE back into a season of ringing."

Is there a spot in your heart yearning to be a part of the magic of rehearsing and performing with a great group of people? The Detroit Handbell Ensemble is holding auditions on Tuesday evening, August 3, 7pm, at Celebration Lutheran Church in Westland. Email Brenda at This email address is being protected from spambots.
