Detroit Handbell Ensemble is proud to present our 2024 holiday concert, “The Stars are Brightly Shining.” Be inspired this holiday season by songs and dulcet sounds spotlighting these celestial phenomena. Come and see DHE at one of our four December 2024 concerts and join us as we celebrate a magical light. Selections include “O Holy Night,” “Rise Up, Shepherd, and Follow,” “Rewrite the Stars (from The Greatest Showman),” “Theme from Star Trek: The Next Generation,” and more.
Artistic director Kyle Webber says, “Through the ages, the stars have been associated with guidance, enlightenment, spirituality, energy, dreams, and wishes. It is said that observing the stars can enhance creativity, attentiveness, and happiness. Our program, “The Stars Are Brightly Shining,” will remind us of our small but significant place in the cosmos. You, too, are a radiant and glimmering star. Together, we are all brightly shining.”
DHE will perform across southeast Michigan this December, with concerts in Livonia, Northville, Walled Lake, and Dearborn. We hope you will join us! Please see our Events page for details.
Eaton Rapids Handbell Festival
The Eaton Rapids Handbell Festival will be held November 16, 2024, and DHE’s very own Kyle Webber is co-directing! The closing concert showcases the talents of DHE and participating musicians. Bells On Your Lawn
DHE’s fall fundraiser, “Bells On Your Lawn,” was a fantastic success! Donors were entered for a chance to win a mini handbell concert right on their lawn. Three winning tickets were drawn, and on October 5, members of DHE performed for our winners and their friends, family, and neighbors (including three adorable donkeys). Thanks to our supporters, we raised almost $2300 toward our ongoing musical endeavors. We are extremely grateful to everyone who contributed to this inaugural event. We had a great time!
