Banner that reads DHE welcomes our new artistic director: Kyle Webber with the DHE logo on the bottom and Kyle's photo on the right

The Detroit Handbell Ensemble is pleased to announce our new artistic director, Kyle Webber! If the name sounds familiar, it’s because Kyle has been both a ringer and the associate artistic director of DHE for several years where he worked closely and collaboratively with Brenda Austin. In addition to being an accomplished director and ringer, Kyle is a published composer, arranger, pianist, and organist who brings enthusiasm and positive energy while setting a high expectation of musical excellence. His good-natured humor instills an element of levity that keeps rehearsals enjoyable, yet very challenging.

We are excited to welcome Kyle into his new role with us and look forward to continued growth as an ensemble!

Brenda Austin accepted a position with Embellish Handbells and submitted her resignation with the end of the 2023 spring season. Under Brenda’s dedicated leadership, DHE grew and evolved as an ensemble, experienced tremendous musical successes, and weathered COVID and personal hardships together. We wish Brenda well on the next part of her journey!

As DHE moves into its 30th anniversary season, we’re building on the strong foundation of musicality and artistic excellence for which the ensemble is known. We look forward to tackling new challenges and striving for new musical heights under Kyle!
